Infant Formula Voluntary Recall – Product Checker

The safety, health, and wellbeing of infants is our absolute priority.

Nestlé is voluntarily recalling specific batches of NAN, S26, and ALFAMINO infant formula in selected countries across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as a precautionary measure. Impacted products and batches vary by country.

This recall relates to the potential presence of cereulide in an ingredient used in the affected batches. No illness has been confirmed to date. The recall is being carried out in full cooperation with local authorities and in line with Nestlé’s strict quality and food safety standards.

All other Nestlé products and non-affected batches remain safe to consume.

Please use the batch checker below to confirm whether your product is affected and follow the guidance provided

To check your product, you can find the batch number at the bottom of the tin. It contains 8 to 10 characters and no punctuation.

Is Nestlé the only company affected?

See answer

We understand parents may worry this is a brand‑specific problem. It is not.
Other infant formula manufacturers have also announced recalls linked to this ingredient. The issue traces back to an ingredient supplied to multiple companies in the industry.
Our internal quality checks detected the issue first, which allowed us to act quickly and take precautionary steps. It’s part of our commitment to put babies’ wellbeing first.

When did Nestlé first discover the issue, and why did the recall expand over time?

See answer

We detected the issue in December last year through our own internal quality checks.
Recalls sometimes expand as investigations continue and as more information becomes available. This does not mean new problems were found, it simply reflects our cautious approach to include any batch that could possibly be affected. We acted immediately and proactively at every step.

Were all recalled batches contaminated?

See answer

No. We recalled any batch that could possibly have been affected, even if we did not detect cereulide in it. This is part of our zero‑tolerance approach to keep babies safe.

Should I switch to another brand because of this recall?

See answer

If your batch number is not recalled, it is safe to consume. If your product is recalled, you can check our offering and consult your Healthcare provider.

Was Nestlé forced to recall by authorities?

See answer

No. This is a voluntary, precautionary recall based on our own strict safety standards.
We acted before any regulatory requirement.
