More on our recall

At Nestlé, the safety of  babies goes beyond the industry standards.

Considering the recent issues affecting the infant formula industry and the recalls announced by several brands, we acted immediately to ensure that every can of our formula remains safe.

We detected an ingredient‑related issue through our internal quality controls and identified the root cause: a specific batch of ARA oil used in some of our infant formulas products.
As soon as we confirmed this, we switched to a new supplier and proactively removed from shelves any product that could potentially be affected. We took this step out of caution and responsibility, to protect babies’ health and safety above all.
Throughout this process, we have been closely collaborating with authorities.
We have also added new, additional tests to our quality process to verify the absence of the cereulide in ARA oils. This type of testing is not part of any industry standard today and we are now working with other infant formula brands and regulators to help make this higher level of testing the norm everywhere.
We proactively contribute, with our scientific expertise, to the evolution of testing protocols across the industry, with relevant regulators. We have long invested in advanced analytical methods, rigorous ingredient qualification processes, and multi‑stage testing precisely to prevent emerging risks from reaching consumers.
These new measures come on top of our existing strict quality standards, which include thousands of rigorous checks at every step — from farm to feeding — to ensure every can provide safe, high‑quality nutrition for babies.
Above all, we want families to know this: we put safety above all, products currently on shelves are safe, and we will continue to take every possible step to ensure parents feel supported and confident in choosing our products.
